So I am guessing a lot of you have gotten big chain texts or messages in the past.
A couple months ago (around october/late september) I got a text from one of my friends.
We’re trying to make the longest imessege name for the 2014 Guinness world records. Put your name down below and send it to 5 people(copy it)
So I unwillingly put my name down after a two-hundred other people because it’s just for fun anyway.
And I sent it to a couple people. But here is the thing,
Say this was the list.
Bob
Kyle
Amy
Caroline
Now I put my name down
Bob
Kyle
Amy
Caroline

And I send it to five people. Now there are 5 lists and my 5 friends all put there name down.
Now there are five separate lists, they might look like this.
List 1
Bob
Kyle
Amy
Caroline
Missg123
Ben
List 2
Bob
Kyle
Amy

Andrew

Now there are 5 different lists, with 5 different people, but if each of my friends send it to 5 people and those five people all put their names down, you suddenly have 25 lists that all have different names, and this could go on forever until there are millions and millions of lists that have different peoples names on them.
Right?
If you had said to send it to only one person, then your friends would all share it and you would end up adding 5 names (or however many) instead of adding 1 name per list. And you would end up having 5 times more names.
The second flaw in this is… your goal for 2014
So whoever created this list is trying to get in the Guinness book of world records. And unfortunately thats not happening. The guinness book if world records doesn’t really care about a texting thing because you could have easily cheated and just looked in a name book/website and just texted 3 million names. Anyone could just look at popular names and write as many as they could. So i am sorry for ruining your thing, but really its not going to happen.
The reason I wrote this is because my other friend just texted me another list a couple minutes ago, and it was much shorter then the previous one I got a couple months ago. After looking at it I realized that this was the same list, it had the same couple names at the top as the one I had gotten earlier. But it did not have my name on it. This was the same list just a completely different version.
